The People’s Republic of China, this year’s partner country of the 6th ‘Let's Travel!’ International Tourism Forum will participate in the event across several formats: through the business programme, a national stand, and a vibrant cultural component of the festival. The 6th ‘Let's Travel!’ International Tourism Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Chinese delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China Lu Yingchuan. As part of the Forum’s business programme, he will take part in the session “Tourism of National Importance: The Strategic Potential of International Cooperation”, dedicated to the development of international tourism engagement, humanitarian ties and joint initiatives in the field of travel and hospitality. An Exhibition of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage will be organized within the business programme venue, jointly staged with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Shandong Province and the Chinese Cultural Centre in Moscow, with the participation of the Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Weifang City, reflecting the cultural traditions of various regions of China. The exposition will feature gems of China’s intangible cultural heritage, including Yangjiabu New Year woodblock prints, Gaomi paper-cutting, Nijiazhuang clay figurines, traditional lanterns and other examples of folk art, reflecting the richness of the country's cultural traditions and the continuity of its craft heritage.
Earlier, on the sidelines of SPIEF 2026, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the extension of the visa-free regime until 31 December 2027 has led to growth in tourist flows between the two countries. In the first quarter, the flow of Russian tourists to China grew by 60 per cent, while the flow of Chinese tourists to Russia grew by 25 per cent. By the end of the year, the mutual tourist flow between Russia and China may amount to approximately six million trips.
“The participation of the People’s Republic of China is an example of a country’s full integration into the Forum’s ecosystem, where international presence is not limited to an exhibition stand but becomes part of the entire architecture of the event: from the strategic business agenda and sector dialogue to cultural initiatives and open festival formats for a broad audience,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
Visitors to the venue will be able to explore tourist routes and the cultural heritage of the PRC at the national stand, which will be located in the ‘Travel the World’ continent.
“Russia and China are consistently strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism, expanding humanitarian ties and creating new opportunities for mutual travel. The extension of the visa-free regime by China has been an important decision in this regard. Visa-free travel is an extremely effective instrument: in the first quarter of 2026 alone, mutual tourist flow between Russia and China doubled, reaching nearly one million trips. The Russian-Chinese dialogue will continue at the 6th ‘Let's Travel!’ International Tourism Forum. It is particularly important that engagement is developing across several directions simultaneously, from strategic dialogue and sector partnership to cultural exchange in festival formats for a broad audience. This approach is precisely what makes it possible to build sustained interest in international tourism and to strengthen ties between countries,” said Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
One of the centrepiece events of the festival programme will be the Kite Festival, one of the most recognizable symbols of Chinese culture and art, which will be ceremonially opened on 11 June from 13:00 to 13:30 on the Main Stage of the ‘Let's Travel!’ Forum’s festival programme.
In the Retreat Zone from 10 to 13 June, Forum guests will be able to discover the traditions of making Chinese kites, a craft with a history spanning thousands of years, through open kite-making masterclasses.
This year the Forum’s business programme will feature over 40 events with the participation of over 300 speakers. The Forum’s festival programme will present national stands from 12 countries, including Belarus, Nicaragua, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Myanmar for the first time, as well as Venezuela, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Uganda and Abkhazia.
