The ‘Let’s Travel!’ International Tourism Forum, to be held from 10 to 14 June at VDNH in Moscow, will feature national stands from 9 countries. Belarus, Nicaragua, Thailand and Sri Lanka will be making their debut appearance, joining Venezuela, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Uganda, and Abkhazia. The international presence opens up additional opportunities for the development of inbound and outbound tourism, the formation of new tourism ties, and the expansion of business cooperation between states. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation together with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
“The ‘Let’s Travel!’ International Tourism Forum today is one of the largest platforms for advancing international tourism dialogue. This year we are expecting guests from more than 30 friendly countries. We will traditionally hold a series of working groups and bilateral meetings as part of our ongoing work on visa liberalization, improving transport connectivity, and launching direct air routes. The business programme includes sessions presenting the tourism products of Russian regions targeted at visitors from China, India, and the Middle East. In turn, our own travellers will be able to learn more about the national traditions, landmarks, routes, and leisure options of foreign countries at their respective stands,” said Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
The programme of activities at the national stands for festival visitors has already been confirmed. Thailand is preparing a prize lottery with quiz questions, a sporting goods presentation, national-style face painting, an instant-print photo booth, a tasting of Thai sweets, Thai fortune predictions, and a Plinko game. The Nicaragua stand will invite visitors to have their photo taken with women wearing national costumes in an atmospheric photo zone. The Sri Lanka stand will host traditional tea ceremonies and offer consultations on the country’s tourism potential. Russian tourists will also be able to access discounts and special offers on tourism products.
“The festival allows visitors to discover the culture, traditions, and tourism offerings of countries from around the world in just a few days. It is precisely this format of live interaction that helps generate a lasting interest in travel, strengthens international ties, and makes tourism an important instrument of cultural dialogue,” said Vladimir Zatynaiko, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the ‘Let’s Travel!’ International Tourism Forum.
Forum guests will have access to a mobile venue guide featuring stand navigation, information on activities, and special offers from participants and partners. Visitors will also be able to take part in a quest, with prizes available for those who complete it.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko recently announced that delegations from 75 regions of Russia will also participate in the ‘Let’s Travel!’ International Tourism Forum. The Forum’s overarching theme is “Different Cultures – Common Values: Uniting People Through Travel”. The theme is dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, proclaimed by a decree of President Vladimir Putin.
Online registration for media representatives and bloggers is now open on the Forum’s official website. Applications may be submitted in accordance with the accreditation rules published on the official Forum website at rustravelforum.com in the ‘Media’ section by 29 May.
