From the Let’s Travel! Forum via Brazil to Kamchatka! The Forum Launches an International Marathon of Cultures
An international marathon of cultures was launched on the second day of the Let’s Travel! Russian Tourism Forum.
The Eurasian Dialogue initiated the idea of holding the Festival Marathons ‘From the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean’ back in 2013 as a socio-political and cultural project to demonstrate the unity of the cultural space of Greater Eurasia. The marathons are being held under the slogan ‘For a Greater Eurasia with no dividing lines’.
This year, participants from ten countries, including Serbia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, were invited to the start of the marathon of cultures, which People’s Artist of Russia Nadezhda Krygina attended at the stand of the Perm Territory.
The marathon participants took a tour of the exposition at the festival. Konstantin Timinsky, director of the of the Perm Territory’s Tourism Development Centre and coordinator of the marathon of cultures, said:
“We are impressed with the Forum, and it’s no coincidence that this place was chosen to start the new leg of the marathon. The cultural events that we choose to attend include roundtables, conferences, festivals, and forums that are united by the idea of travel and friendship between countries.”
The participants will then travel to St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Minsk, and Istanbul. This year, the Marathon is expanding its borders and one of the events will be held in Brazil. The marathon will conclude in July in Kamchatka.
The Let’s Travel! Russian Tourism Forum was held at Pavilion 55 on Industry Square at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow on 8–11 June.
The Forum was held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the National Priorities Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization, the All-Russian Exhibition Centre, the Russian Geographical Society, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, and other industry associations.
